Impressive testimonials supporting Kirsen’s real-time cargo monitoring at PDA Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Conference in Washington, D.C.

A joint team from DB Schenker and Kirsen Global Security presented the benefits of real-time container monitoring solutions at the PDA Pharmaceutical Cold Chain Conference in Washington, D.C.

The ability to monitor in real-time the temperature inside a container is especially relevant to the pharmaceutical industry, since extreme temperatures can ruin a shipment worth millions of dollars. With current data logging technologies, pharma companies may not get accurate information that the shipment has been spoiled until after it has passed through customs. With real-time monitoring, a receiver can choose not to have a spoiled container pass through customs, avoiding the time and expense of unnecessary inspections and duties.

Expert Dr. Christian Bogatu presented the benefits of using the DB Schenkersmartbox powered by Kirsen versus offline data loggers, a presentation that was endorsed by Rafik Bishara, Ph.D., a well-known expert on cold-chain management. Only real-time monitoring creates true visibility and allows supply chain and quality control managers to intervene if something goes wrong during the shipment. David Ulrich, Quality Assurance Director at Abbott Laboratories, supported Christian’s presentation by providing an overwhelmingly positive customer testimony for the DB Schenkersmartbox.
