Dr.-Ing. Christian Bogatu, Co-founder and Managing Director
Christian is one of the leading experts on smart containers with extensive academic and business background in this nascent industry. Christian co-founded Kirsen back in 2001 in Berkeley, California and his Ph.D. thesis "The Smart Container business case as an answer to security-related and logistical challenges" (published in 2008) combines the technology, applications, process, regulation, and foremost the business implications of smart containers in an unprecedented way.
Christian has more than 5 years experience as senior consultant and project manager with McKinsey & Company. In 2009, Dr. Bogatu was appointed an Advisory Board Member of the UC Berkeley Business Administration International Diploma
Christian holds a Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in security technology and logistics and a master (Diplom) in chemical engineering from the University of Technology in Berlin, Germany. He also studied at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, and Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.
Benjamin Miedaner, Managing Director
Benjamin serves as Managing Director at Kirsen Global Security, focusing on customer base extension and optimization of the operational and business processes.
Before joining the company in 2015 as Key Account and Business Development Manager, Benjamin worked for four years as Project Manager at DB Schenker. Benjamin holds a diploma in Economics from the Free University of Berlin.
Dr. Wolfgang Dräger, Senior Advisor
After having graduated at the University of Rostock as Dr. oec in 1976, Wolfgang has started his commercial career in shipping business. During his term in the shipping company he did serve in all shipping line fields from line management, administration and top management as well as being stationed abroad in Korea, Japan, Singapore, Italy and Hong Kong for many years.
He did held senior positions such as line manager, general manager, director, VP and regional MD Asia between 1976 and 2001.
Wolfgang joined Schenker AG in December 2001 as Senior Vice President Global Product Management Ocean Freight and developed the ocean freight business of Schenker to become the third largest ocean freight logistic company worldwide.
He retired from Schenker AG in April 2011 and is now working as Senior Advisor for Kirsen Global Security.
